When i got the letter from JLR I called my local dealer. They advised me that I did not need to take the car in and they did not need to see or inspect my car as it was too old!
I tow on a very regular basis.. ie several times a week. Fully loaded ifor tiping trailer with sand and gravel etc....
The Disco has not been inspected AFAIK.. should I pursue Land Rover? My tow hitch is permanently fitted..
Anyone got any thoughts?1 TR6 Rusting away quietly

Just seen a RRS parked on the grass verge coming out of Stratford-Upon-Avon at 1900 tonight without a towbar on the back and a brand new caravan with its hitch embedded into a hedge just behind it, good start to the Easter hols.
Hope you get sorted and please keep us informed of the outcome.

I'm looking at getting a Disco very shortly, I don't tow very often but when I do I'm lugging about 2.5 tonnes of boat up to Scotland (700-800 mile round trip) or pulling up to 3.5t with digger/hardcore.
I'd say it's less than 2.5k per year. Surely a tow bar that's got type approval for a 3.5t limit should be able to do just that?
I don't particularly want the fixed bar as it looks like it severely reduces departure angle, and I can see it getting hung up when I'm off fishing/shooting...

I had mine done 1.5yrs ago roughly when I found out about it and had my 54 plate checked. They fitted a fixed system so I was well chuffed! I've never had my 08 plate checked, but have a fixed system on that I fitted myself so not too worried Alex Threlfall (Nanocom Evolution Owner)

Two bolts and the key and fixed one is off, I can have it and my LPG tank off in 20 minutes if I am going off-roading. Biggest issue is your nose-weight, detachable is limited to 150kg and occasional use, fixed is 250kg.==================================

Tow bar check
Just for info I contacted LR last week, my car had not been in so they were really nice and booked it in there and then. Free tow bar check, wash and polish and a general check over and health report.
All was well.
Good service too from Inchcape.Discovery 4 3.0 HSE 2010 year. I like it a lot. Now with winch 😂
