Just Out Of Interest.......

Browsing The Bay (as you do!!) I've been interested to see the increase in LED H7 bulbs for headlights being listed.
Ranging from the obviously naff £2 specials to more expensive 'kits' which look like they require quite a bit of tinkering to fit and starting around £40

Anyone had experience of any of these in a D3/4 and are any of them any good as an improvement over the halogen ?

(Got the xenons as dip in mine and halogen in main)

I tried the £20 ones, worse than candles.
I saw on piston heads someone had bought some h7 Cree led kits, £95-100 claimed to offer near HID aftermaket kit light output. They have built in cooling fans so look, the part.
Don't want to waste £100 finding out. My HIDs-4u are good but do get worse with age, they last approx 50,000 miles which is only a year for me . They also take approx 15 seconds to get to full brightness so no good for main beam

light pattern is entirely wrong for the reflector - you'll end up with lots of light in all the wrong places. Better off getting Osram Nightbreaker Unlimited if you want more light
I know it's not considered "kind" to say no these days, but no. Just no, ok? And if it's not ok, still no.

Yep...I can see that having tried some of the earlier ones in my D2.......absolute pants.

just that you see a lot of new cars being specced with LED headlights so I guess the technology is starting to mature.
