When you're 6 years old.....

I took my son and 5 of his Primary 2 classmates to the local pensioners Christmas lunch today, where they sang carols and generally brought a great deal of seasonal cheer....
He took delight in demonstrating to his pals the different suspension height settings....every change being greeted with loud cheering and clapping Laughing ....the 4x4 steering graphic was also a big hit.
One declared,on arriving back at the school, that it was....."the best car they'd ever been in".....
I couldn't have put it better myself..... Very Happy

4x4 info screen had that effect on a 32 yr old a few weeks ago, still thinks his Kia is a better car because of 7 yr warranty.
Trying to get him out for a play to prove a point but I on't let me attach a shackle beforehand

I'm not sure if it is just the Scottish Borders or the rest of Scotland that do this with the kids - South Cumbria certainly didn't when we were there. My daughter goes with her school (Newcastleton PS) and both kids and pensioners have a wail of a time. I think it's great.

What is amusing is when we are in the village, my daughter (8) will suddenly pipe up "Hello Mary...Marjory.....etc" to an elderly lady whom is a stranger to me and they'll enter into a really friendly chat.

I like to think it helps to build respect in the youngsters but also makes the "old-timers" happy that they can communicate with the young.

I think its a really good idea, for the reasons you give above Thumbs Up
Although I was disappointed to hear that after a quick classroom chat,it was decided the "Magic Car" wasn't as good as the time one of the old folks gave them all a shot of the stairlift earlier this year Shocked

The best bit was, apparently the old lady didn't use it for herself....she put her dinner plate on it and used it to take her tea upstairs Laughing
