Oh allie Gareth is virtically challenged and the roof is a ladder job for him.
I would just like to point out that the best things come in small packages, but Brian is correct, a good set of step ladders is essential unless you are a giant.
I also have a Karcher pressure washer which is ideal for cleaning the mud off, and getting the wheel arches clean.
Use Autoglym bumper protect to keep the black plastic black. Do it soon before it fades.
Looks like a trip to Halfords at some stage tomorrow, could not cope with faded or jaded plastics:shock: - thanks for the tipAllie
It is now 3 weeks and 3days after taking delivery of my D3, I decided to wash it with TLC, only to realise when standing with hose and bucket in hand, I would need a ladder for the roof and 2 people for the windscreen.
I have now been to the local hand wash guys who took about 12 mins and have done a good job for 6quid. Is any one else facing the same challenge to clean their car?
I have received my Off Road Invitation today, looks like October is the next available date in my neck of the woods. Hope to get the off roading bug and join some of you guys on events.
Which site are you going to do your LRE at? They all seem quite a distance away from meDiscovery 3 tdv6 7 seat Buckingham Blue

Only?! So's Skipton and some of the W Midlands sites. Not exactly 'just round the corner'.
Och well- could be much worse. If I lived in N Scotland then I'd be many hours from the nearest dealer, nevermind LRE centre!Discovery 3 tdv6 7 seat Buckingham Blue

Someone clipped my D3 today
A b****y man in a white transit clipped and grazed my off side wing mirror today, whilst I was sitting in it and about to start off.
I had literally pulled out my wing mirror climbed into the car and was about to set off when this guy clipped me and drove off. fortunatley he had dropped a woman off, I was able to get his details from her, mainly to embarass him as there is nothing else I can do as it is a small graze. I guess there will be a few more dinks and grazes as people are just not careful enough with parking etc.
I was at the amount of foul language I knew and used
Ah well Allie

Allie,
I had the same happen to my DIIa today in Liverpool (get my D3 on Sat!) anyway I got the reg No. of the van that clipped my drivers side door mirror and smashed the glass - I found the police helpfull and they'll be contacting the van driver for failing to stop after an accident - I think it's an endorsable offence!
Thought I'd spoil his day like he spoilt mine and hopefully make him think twice from doing it again!

Hard luck Allie, Don't you find yourself getting paranoid with the D3?
I do, I now find the most remote parking bay, well away from the "normal" cars, I always park on the end of a row, and leave a HUGE gap to any car next to me, and If someone pulls up alongside whilst I am sat in it, I will actually move to a parking bay with at least 2 spaces each side.
I have no parking 'dings' yet though. It pays to be careful.

If I am correct, the LRE at Bala is the site owned (was owned - I'm not sure) by Landcraft. If its the same place, Land Rover Owner mag used to run driving days there. We used to go there in my series 2a.
Excellent site, had some great fun in the 'bog'

I'm just waiting for some jellous g*t to come along and run their key down the length of the vehicle.
Just a personal thing, but it's one of the reasons I never bother washing my cars, so they don't get 'spoilt' by someone making a point against a nice shiny 'new' car.
I guess I'll have to give it a good wash after Sunday's activities - there's a difference even I can tell between general road 'dirt' and off-road mud.. Coffeecup

Splattered fly's are a killer to get off!!
A good soak with warm water, then a blast with the pressure washer gets them off.

Unless we are unlucky, they should not get that dirty. Obviously speed will increase the risk, but then there are marshalls all the while.

I used a special bug shifter sponge (from Asda) and a lot of elbow grease instead, topping it off with gallons of wax
