Heads Up - Watchdog Tonight

Here's a heads-up (for the Brits on the Forum) for Watchdog on BBC1 tonight, 8:00 pm

' A security weakness that could affect thousands of cars'.

Given other recent talks on BBC radio this week I'm guessing this is about 'Keyless' car systems.

You're possibly right, but if they start a general scare about OUR cars it won't do much for value......unless you're just about to buy one Whistle

I suppose that any media coverage of the security vulnerabilities of our vehicles has got to be good news. It might make JLR take the matter seriously and offer us some sort of solution!

Still not clear to what extent Discoveries are vulnerable. Confused

Given how easy it for many of us to program a key fob with our own legitimate aftermarket kit, I would say highly vulnerable.

I can't believe the whole "Recon engine" scam is still going strong.

I loved the "Your're a lady so you won't notice it has no power" Rolling with laughter unbelievable.

There was place near Heathrow that doing exactly the same thing years a go, in one case they were caught swapping the engines between 2 Sierras that had both come in for replacements.

Same thing happened with the Ex series of BMWs from 2003 onwards.

It was sorted pretty quickly by BMW, in some cases, remotely Smile
