Wot start fault code p2290 & p140a
Thanks chris getting no where as I am in South France miles from man kind !! ordered new fuel filter LD.will start there ,car wot start now only when I plug it in to live data ??? I am hoping it's the fuel filter also have code p140a coming up egr problem ??? Not sure if mine have been blanked french car & also my lynx wot can't find terrain reponse module ??? Any idears welcome lonely out here in the Pyrenees !!!
Can you hear the in tank fuel pump running when you turn the ignition switch on, and check for fuel at the bleed valve on top center of the engine. P2290 is injector control pressure to low.
I had that. Cured with a new HP Pump. But can also be several other much cheaper options.Mark.

Yes you can test the pump without removing it. There are 4 main methods:
- Pressure test via the test valve
- Oscilloscope on the electrical input (you can even spot broken impellers with this)
- Voltage drop test
- Ammeter
Voltage drop test:

25 Amp Fuse = 2.36mOhm or 0.00236 Ohms
Measured @ 0.0235v or 23.5mV
= 9.95763 Amps
Ammeter / amp clamp:

Clamp on fuel pump circuit = 9.9 Amps
Whilst the pressure test is an absolute indicator of the fuel pump working the scope, voltage drop and amp test will check the integrity of the control system and the car wiring too.

It's been said in the past that
Brake switch or brake light bulbs can cause similar faults
If you can't see one of your ECUs that's a concern unless your diagnostic tool isn't capable of seeing it
If it was missing I would have thought your tool would have shown faults to match
I had similar fault with a missing ECU but mine was the transfer case control module
And this was because I got it wet after cleaning the engine bay
I also have experienced the blocked fuel filter after a service by land rover
But the engine just wouldn't tick over after blipping the throttle but that didn't store any fault codes

The symptoms may be similar but I would be very surprised if a brake circuit problem would preclude a normal start as the P and C BITs are suppressed during the start sequence.

Sorry not sure this is correct 0.06 ohms taken tank out got fuel pump out very dirty ,powered it up with battery nothing , cleaned nothing , gave it a tap started working seems to run fine now not sure if buy new or was it down to the dirty filter on pump also notice I've got prop shaft mount gone so better do that while tank is out guess off the road for while as parts take over a week to get here in Pyrenees so can't put back yet silly too , hopfully it's cured it fingers crossed go days work thanks guys. Erg valves how can I tell if done or not because I've got fault. P140a too many thanks

Banging the tank is a standard way to diagnose a bad pump so if it runs after tapping it it does need replacing.
You can look either side of your engine for the presence of blanks. If you have no braided hose from the EGRs to the intake manifold then you have complete blanking. If the hoses are still there then check for an extra bit of metal sandwiched between the EGR valves and the hose. Also check your intake manifold as if the big plastic shutter has been removed or disconnected then probably blanked and if left and movable then probably not blanked.

Thanks but don't bow to me as I am still learning too as these vehicles still present surprises.
There are a number of technically minded members and sponsors on here who endeavour to provide diagnostics and this mini-comunity exchanges PMs more regularly than you would realise when something odd comes along.
