Dustbin full of water. Leave them in to soak for about 10 mins. That's what they do at the local car wash.

Any thoughts on what to use on the boot plastics? They are a bit scuffed and faded. Mark

This then progressed to wiping the Matt paint finish of my motorbike and by default the 'damp' cloth over the rubber hoses and bits and bobs just as a 'Once over'.
I have an Aprilia with Matt/satin paint and have tried a few things to care for it but never really been happy - too patchy and gloss spots. What does baby oil do? How do you use it please?

John,
I pretty much understood Johnson's Baby Oil to be 'de riguer' for matt finish paintwork. As I said it is a 'top tip' on kitchen stainless steel.
I used it initially on a matt paint finish BMW GS I had and then on my Aprilia Tuono with matt black paint (so presume you have Tuono or RSV).
Literally just put on cloth all over so its 'well soaked' and wipe over, leave a few minutes and buff lightly over. If you apply the oil direct to the paint that is when you may get 'spots'.
You don't want too much on as by it's nature it will attract dust if a sheen of oil coating applied and left on.
As I said any rubber exposed will appreciate a wipe from the cloth (door, bonnet seals, on cars and hoses, etc. on bikes and cars) and it is also good on black plastics, etc. as well so good for a quick tart up of car bumpers and tyres, etc. just before a sale viewing

Yes it will but it won't have the longevity of the proprietry car cleaning products,
But it is cheap and if you regularly clean your car it only takes a few seconds to wipe over.
Not sure I'd use it 'all the time' on my car but works great for my 'bikes as I'm a sunny weather rider with showroom condition 'bikes that never see rain let alone go out in the hideous stuff
