Air leak when changing compressor - is this normal

I changed my compressor yesterday, and when I removed the pipe form the reservoir valve block to the compressor, I had a release of air. I thought this normal for any residual air left in the pipes. But when I placed the new VOSS fitting into the reservoir valve block, and then removed the plug I got another release of air. On closer inspection I found that air was slowly leaking from this fitting, and the rear of the car was sinking.

I would have expected that the reservoir valve block would shut the valves, and not allow any release of air. This also leads me to believe that as there was air releasing and the rear of the car sinking, that air was escaping from the rear control valve block to the reservoir valve block. The car has sunk at the rear overnight, but not to the bump stops. This could be due to the air equalising between the reservoir valve block and the compressor.

Has anyone else noticed this when changing their compressor?

I think the rear valve and reservoir valve blocks are leaking and need changing?

Thanks
John

Never happened before. It does sound as though at least the rear valve block is leaking

Yes, I think I'll replace both, seeing I've replaced the front as well.
