This will turn your sidelights and DRLs on with the ignition. The DRLs would then be switched off when the headlamps are turned on - the solenoid will break the contact in the relay - most relays do the opposite.
You could either have a relay each side or imagine each lamp in the picture as two in parallel. I'd stick with the latter.
Your ignition-on source would need to be appropriately cabled (I'd go with 17 amp cable) and fused, LEDs, of course, don't draw as much current. I would connect directly to the battery and have another relay connected to the plug behind the grill to switch it on and off with the ignition.
You could use your former sidelight feed to trigger the relay but if you have/want to have auto lights this would mean at times you'd be left with only sidelights so go with the dipped beam.
Hope this helps.
EDIT: Just seen previous post, if you just want your sidelights on as DRLs and no other DRLs just hook up another connection in parallel (but make sure it's fused). I thought you wanted additional DRLs.Current: Discovery 3 06MY (55 reg) HSE Auto Zambezi Silver Allisport Fast Road Intercooler, V8 Brakes, Silicone IC Hoses, EGRs Blanked, Remapped, De-Cat pipe, FBHIC

I suppose that the point is (and if you wired it correctly) the fairy lights would be on with the ignition but not the rear tail lamps, number plate lamps and instrument lighting. That's how I would want it anyway.

I'm no expert on wiring diagrams (so treat the following information with caution) but it looks to me to be red/orange wire pin 14 for RH lamp and red/black wire pin 14 for LH lamp. These wires are intended to be used for ignition on feed to the AFS headlamp motors if fitted. They are already fused by fuses 49 and 50 at 5A according to the wiring diagram that I have.
Edit - mine doesn't have AFS but does have 5A fuses in positions 49 and 50.

I picked up that red and black wire on the LH headlamp cluster for my DRL's. Never take life too seriously. Nobody gets out alive anyway.

ok, I am about to do this.... So one final time just to check;
I am wiring PIN 14 (gin power to AFS)
Into PIN 2 (sidelight power to fairy lights)

Do you think this is right? Don't want to pop anything!

Can't say whether anything will pop but if I were doing it that's what I'd do to get the result that you want.

Isn't there a setting in the D4's CCF to do this, ie Scandanavian setting or the like? Or have I misunderstood what you're after?

lol, ok so been out there and there is no feed to PIN 14.
Looking at RH connector - There is however a red wire to PIN 4 and a red/orange to PIN 2
PIN 2 is it seems the power feed to fairy lights
PIN 4 looks like a main power from ignition
So, my thinking is that I remove PIN 2 and put a bridge in from PIN 4 into it. That way I am not creating a potential for backload into the main power feed from the ignition.
Sound like a plan?
So how do I remove pins, and where do I get new pins to create my bridge?

I didn't think that the fairy lights were installed on GS \ XS ..or am I thinking of a different MY 21 year LR veteran > D2 GS 2003 > D3 S 2006 > D3 HSE 2009 > D4 HSE 2013 > D4 HSE 2015 > D5 HSE 2018 > DS HSE R-Dynamic P300e 2021

Yes you are right DG, I have fitted Xenons which have the fairy lights, but my connector is missing the wires for AFS...Justin
