Get someone to stand at the front of the car and watch as you turn the ignition on - see if they move (they don't have to be on, they test themselves each time).

Mine is an 09 and has the all singing adaptive/AFS system... If the car is turned off and pointing at a wall turn the full lights on as soon as you start up (literally within a second our so) and you'll see them do a little dance left right up down.
If they don't do that, they're not the adaptive and are plain Xenon.
Have to admit mine were a pain in the FFRR I had, many AFS faults. They've been spot on with this car although at one point I had one of the hoods on the Xenons sticking a bit - fixed itself.MY15 DIY Black Pack (Better than factory and half the price!)
