diesel smoke from nsf when parking
Maybe a daft question but is it normal for there to be smoke coming from the near side front of the bonnet when you stop the car? It only lasts for seconds but there's enough for people to point it out.

I thought it was, but is it normal for a small cloud of smoke to puff out?

And we thought it would never be asked again with good old global warming.
Would be interested in seeing if mine works, usually it doesn't play. Not that it makes any difference, certainly to my car.

Well I'm hoping that my engine will warm up quicker on my 8 mile run to work and so give better economy. Dave

I don't find it makes a jot of difference. My car's fully warmed up after 3 miles in my typical morning drive in 30/40mph traffic whether it works or not, summer or winter. Decided long ago to just ignore it if it doesn't want to play, it's totally superfluous in my car and want going to spend any time or money on it.
My opinion, others vary.

Just a quick update for anyone who may be interested. Got my car back from the local independent and it turns out it was a leaking injector spraying diesel onto the exhaust manifold.
