Siôn - D3 TDV6 SE 2009
Latest picture updated below.
Things Done:
De-tangoed lights.
Black D4 rears.
D4 Style Grille. Now replaced with a Narpy Grill.
Side Steps (mainly for avoiding any more nasty door dents on my panels from thoughtless parkers in car parks). Now replaced with ProSpeed sliders.
LR rigid Mudguards.
RHS Spare Wheel protector.
4X4 info activated.
Waxoyled.
Re-trimmed steering wheel.
Removable tow bar changed to a fixed tow bar by LR under Q393 service action.
Disco 4 style Side Vent Grille.
Sill Tread Plates.
Interior lighting to LED's.
Stormers powdercoated
Grey 18 inch S style alloys with BF Goodridge KO2 tyres.
Things to do:
Replace fixed towbar with a Towtrust one for that little bit of extra ground clearance but still solid and safe when towing the 2 horses.
I'm possibly going to get some Xennons if I find a second hand pair a reasonable price.
Full size spare Stormer.
Not sure what else, but there must be loads to do

It's been a brilliant car so far. Loads of skip runs with a full boot. All 7 seats used taking the kids and their friends to Alton towers. Everyone in one vehicle with 4 mountain bikes on the back for bike days around North Wales. Towing the horse trailer. Loaded up Cruise down to the south of France and through the Col du Parpaillon.
How did I ever get by without it?

I'm curious to learn what's wrong with the quality of the grill you bought? Is it because the body coloured part isn't genuine and is a bit floppy i.e the plastic is thin?Mods:

It's nothing too bad, but it's not a cheap grill, and I had to pay to get it painted Zermatt Silver so expected a bit better. It's just small finishing touches that let it down. The gap between the down struts and the base are too big compared to a Genuine D4 grill. Some 'drape marks' from moulding are ever so slightly visible. Some rough edges at the back of the grill. All of these things are hardly noticeable. All the plastic is really good quality and thickness. I will post some pics to try and show them when I get home tonight. I really loved the D4 style of the grill, but in hindsight, should of ordered a Narpy one.

I couldn't really get a photo of the moulding marks they are so faint, but this one shows the gap and the rough edges quite well.

That is a very tricky area to get spot on with a D4 grill mod even when you take your time and are careful.
It may be possible to adjust the D4 insert so it sits slightly further forward and thus closes the gap but you'd need to unstick the whole job in all honestly and it's probably not worth the hassle. Mods:

Yep, I think I'm being super picky and I think they could of been a bit neater with the router when cutting that out, but like I said, it's only when you look close up.
