Suspension compressor fixed

Hi guys
Fairly new to site( and first post so please
forgive if I get it a bit wrong)
Well just a big thanks to all your knowledge with the discos

Had a problem with the compressor (normal
Ride height only) a quick search and found a hopeful
Fix
I removed the compressor(air pipes a pig, just be gentle and work them)
Replaced the air dryer and compressor seals, quick clean round and check
for cracks, refit and test,
That was 3 weeks ago and all seems well Very Happy
So really just to say it could be worth spending£80 or so,
before forking out £400+ on a new unit.

An encouraging result for those a bit shy to have a go,well done,if they are designed and built by men/women then the same ought to be able to fix em,given the tools and the knowledge. Thumbs Up

Nice one jay Thumbs Up

Satisfaction guarenteed having done it yourself as opposed to going to the dealers and wondering if all is as it should be, job and price wise.

The forum is such a godsend due to info sharing and input from all manner of owners/enthusiasts Bow down

Anyone on here offer this as a service? Mine is on its way out but it sounds a bit tricky for me to attempt on my own.

Super eagles
A decent mechanic should be able to help,
Loads of info on here, you could maybe print some
off for reference, and call in to a local garage,
To be honest I found the hardest thing with my
compressor was loosening the air pipes as they tend
to seize in the housings

Hi Guys I'm in South Africa and a company in UK called landyair Andrew Dearnley he sells complete kits for the Hitachi compressor including piston an wear rings, he trades mostly on Ebay I've fixed 5 compressors already.
Good luck

Stumbled on this and whilst his choice of tools is a little odd a times it is a useful video on how to perform surgery on your compressor:

This may help a little if you have not wrestled the thing on and off before:

Ratchet spanners are handy too.

I took mine out & sent it to Andrew at Landyair.com, he received it today & fixed same day and tested. Fitting it back next week, fingers crossed!
