Cleaning TDV6 injectors with Liqui Moly Diesel Purge

Hallelujah for Friday Smile

I have a VW TDI which (based on user and specialist recommendations) I use Liqui Moly Diesel Purge on to clean the injectors every 50,000 km

When I Googled TDV6 Diesel Purge, all that came up was articles about procedures following a fuel filter change. Has anyone had any experience with cleaning TDV6 injectors this way on a Disco 3? Im guessing it will take around 1 litre of diesel purge, but would love to hear any other opinions on it!

Thanks all - have an awesome weekend!

This stuff probably has some effect on mechanical injectors but I doubt it has much impact on piezo injectors, which you have fitted to your TDV6. Wink

Fraid not, not hits! Although I havent followed it up since then, I have heard of more folks using Diesel Purge on their TDV6 injectors - the question is, their method and success/destruction rate. I was hoping to get a specialist opinion before possibly laying waste to $1500 worth of hardware Smile

From what I understand, the piezo injector still has a nozzle with micro-jets and a needle around which the diesel is delivered, so I would presume that its possible for those pathways to become caked or clogged and hence, be cleaned with an injector cleaning agent.

However, presumption is the proverbial mother, father, sister (cousin etc.) of all eff-ups! So I'd like to get a professional opinion if possible (or an opinion from the school of hard knocks?)
