rubbish snorkel
bought a cheap one off the bay from lr direct turned up quick decided to fit it today and what a load of crap it is.
Problems i had
The sticky foam seal thing wasn't sticky and seems to do nothing at all as you have to as per the instructions use silicone sealant
The pipe that goes in the wing came apart when trying to fit it to the snorkel end
it seems warped as the top bolt is lined up can put my finger through the hole and touch it but its to far away from the body to put the nut on!
It a real waste of money that i wish i had never spent. I should have just bought a proper one
Anyone else had any issues

spotted this but don't need a wing so will just buy a proper safari as i have on my 200 d1 300 d1 and d2 td5. I got this simply because someone i know bough one on their d1 and it was spot on, but then again there is less pipework on the d1current

Reading this post with interest, looking at the Safari site am I reading it correct that for the D4 they are claiming better air supply and therefor efficiency than standard ?Peter

^You can kiss your engine goodbye
Water isn't compressible like air. Unstoppable force meets immovable object and net result is cracked block or bent rods or broken crank
In short fubar

I like the look of the LR RAI... Only thing I'm worried about is drilling the wing! 07 Land Rover Discovery III HSE

Drilling the wing does require a leap of faith. However take your time with the marking out and make sure you are happy with everything. When you have done that check it all again then drill. It's easier than you think and the result looks 8) IMO.

It does look the business... Just need to find one for sale!
I read about defenders needing extra breather tubes here and there if you wanted them water tight... Is it the same with the D3 or will I be set with just the RAI?
Will the addition of the RAI increase my wading depth by much?07 Land Rover Discovery III HSE

Mines not watertight. But as long as you don't do anything stupid the standard 700mm wading depth is more than enough. Cue gratuitous wading photos
Not sure what kit you need to make it watertight but I'm sure someone will be along with the answer
