jackless wheel change
probably a silly question
is it possible,or has anyone tried to change a wheel by useing the air suspension
as in
lift to offroad height
block chassis near required wheel.
drop suspension to access height
reverse order to get block back out
just a thought

I think you need to rethink how the suspension works!
(Hint, the suspension wants to keep the wheel in contact with the ground and not the chassis.)

It won't work as the car will think it's grounded and lift to extended height to clear the vehicle of the obstruction

I think if you do that it'll reach for the floor regardless.
If I were in the mood to experiment I'd raise to offroad height, put a block under the lower wishbone on the corner I wanted to change, and then drop to access height - the corner in question would then sit higher than the others and the self-levelling would take over, cantilevering the wheel off the ground.
Whether the block would stay put is another matter.

I've seen it done jackless on the crest of a bank where the offending wheel was left dangling 21 year LR veteran > D2 GS 2003 > D3 S 2006 > D3 HSE 2009 > D4 HSE 2013 > D4 HSE 2015 > D5 HSE 2018 > DS HSE R-Dynamic P300e 2021

Could possibly be done, would be better if you first blocked the chassis whilst requesting a drop from off road height to force it into extended mode, then put a block under a wish bone and drop it back into normal mode. whether said block of wood remains in place is a completely different matter, but I'd try it if I was desperate

the sillyness of the question is something I ever worry about......this is a (& for me at least the) way you can learn
Good Point
Citroen DS's had a system that did just that...(maybe GS's too)
But on a D3/D4 wont work as not designed or modifiable to do thisBREXIT - done properly.

I have a Citroen DS23 and I think the same principle wil work with the Disco.
Put it extended mode first, put a block on one side in the middle of the chassis. Deflate and the wheels at the side of the block wil retract because the force from the anti roll bars.
