I used the genuine OEM (,) Safari internals instead of the LR KIT. Never been a problem Steve

The "waterproofness" of the RAI can be improved by using D4 fittings. These include a gasket to fit between the RAI and the mudguard. Further, the pipe connecting the RAI to the airbox is sealed.

I have one of these cheaper ones on my disco 3 and had the same problem but it is water tight as far as I can tell the ain issue I had was the top fixing on the wing is not even in the hole due to as you say warping I have left it on till I get the safari one same as I had on my D2 cause this one is utter rubbish.
