One Month Later – thinking of retro fit Leather

I have had my 2005 S now for a month and love it. I would like to upgrade the ebony cloth trim for a factory look leather.

I had a quote from Seat Surgeons, with arm rests fitted, but seem pricey for that option at over £1800 all up. Has anyone had leather and arm rests fitted for less? Do seat surgeons do a good job, any others in the South worth considering?

I did a similar thing at the begining of the year, but decided to buy all Genuine Landrover parts. It worked out slightly dearer than what you have been quoted, but the benefit is, that with Genuine parts all the proper fixings are already in place and the covers fit exactly. It is also still all genuine Landrover.

Try Exmoor Trim. They advertise in the LR mags and I've seen adverts for very cheap leather re-trims for a D3. You'll also probably end up with better quality leather than the original.

Thanks I have contacted Exmoor Trim but they did not seem sure about fitting arm rests which I am quite keen on, I am still waiting on an email from them. I agree they look like a good option for a straight forward re trim with a factory look. I may go with them.

I would go this route if the cost was comparable, I contacted Guava my local authorised repairer for the prices and the cost of the factory trim for the front seats alone exceeded the Seat Surgeons quote for all seven seats! Shocked

Thanks, it seems like Nick is the man for parts, I got my side steps from him at a good price so I should have thought of him first!'Embarassed'
