2012 Discovery 4 3.0 SDV6 HSE Auto Java Black

RR Sport 3.0 advice (for a mate)

My mates 2010 RR sport dropped a valve over the weekend, anyone know how big a job it may be to fix (sorry I'm not hugely tecy) it's 5 months out of warranty.....

Same engine as the disco as I understand it?

Thanks for the extensive replies, the engine is currently being stripped down at a LR dealer. No discussions have taken place regarding good will etc

He should get on the blower ASAP before he runs up a large bill with the dealer

You dint say how may miles it has done, but out of the many issues reported on here, can't
remember any dropped valves at even high miles.......am sure someone will correct me v soon

All that said , this would still be classed as premature failure in my book, so would be asking LR what they plan to do about it

After 3 weeks in the dealers my mate now knows it was a broken crank shaft - wrecked the engine. He'd done 50k in it. Luckily LR are putting a new engine and 2 new turbos in it - foc
