Non Invasive Circuit Testing |
|
Hi
Surfing the net as you do whilst looking for circuit testers, I came across this chap:
The kit he is demoing is linked below, which is used by comms installers.
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Tone-Generator-Amp...uit+tester
Has anyone tried out one of these on a vehicle harness in situ, as it appears to be a useful tool on the harness he has on the floor, but would it be as effective in the vehicle - my thoughts are more than likely yes, but thought I would ask here?

I have a similar Sealey piece of kit but haven't had a chance to try it yet. Just need to be careful near airbag circuits!!!!!!!!!!

I use these for data cable tracing the generator's generally uses a 9v battery though I've never checked the voltage sent down the cable.
They work very well but generally need a feed and return to get the best signal.

Hi
Reference your point relating to feed and return - how is that possible with an open circuit in the cable you have clipped too?
