There is a tip earlier in this thread. You can rotate the two inmost sensors. If you don't feel confident Aron can do it.

Look for this post:

'Sensor Modification

Post edited degree figure corrected.

Moving the sensor and surround by about 75 degrees away from the hitch works. 90 degeees will cause sensors to go off because they are pointing too low.
Moved mine 90 then back about 15 degrees when I found it to register uneven ground.
You can move sensors without taking off the skin by undoing the screws holding the skin then pulling it away from the bumper. It is easier with someone to help holding a torch so you can see what you are doing.

Note position of sensors in next post. '

Thanks for unlocking the thread, I will not put any contact information in my sig again. If people want to contact me, they will do so, without my assistance.

Thanks again.

Yes, thanks for unlocking this thread.
I for one took no offence at the minimal commercial mention (in this instance).
You have to realise that Mitchell Bros invested considerable money in developing a problem solve for all of us, which will only be of benefit to them if they can sell enough to cover their considerable costs.
The saga of this development is one of the success stories of this forum - exactly one of the reasons it exists.

I know it may be a fine line, but I see no problem in providing feedback to a manufacturer which in the end, benefits us.

And we all have to remember that this site costs Martin money to run/host, and that benefits us all, especially those who can make commercial gain from the target audience, he can only do it if site sponsors/individual donors contribute enough to cover his costs Wink Thumbs Up

Unnecessary quote removed

Looks to me like those aims are mutually compatible.

There's a line between warranted commercial advertising and genuine developing-with-the-community. I suggest that this thread is very much the latter. However, because it's a grey area it is difficult to define what's acceptable and what isn't so a fairly strict law needs to be enforced.

Thanks for your observations Rolling Eyes . Be assured that the primary consideration is to uphold the rules to ensure that existing sponsors, who are paying reasonable sums to promote their services, are protected against the darker side of the grey area you speak of. Regardless of an investment by any party their ultimate goal is to profit from the promotion of the items or services they provide. To that end the commercial posting rules will be upheld by the moderators until such point that an agreement is in place with the site owner.

Just a thought, DG
How flexible are the sponsorship fees? Oz is a small market and a small part of the forum.

Agree with most of the above posts, gratefull that Mitchell Bros took the trouble to design & build a practical tow hitch for such a small msrket. Thanks to the Aus.members for the practical input, & also the people who run this excellent site.

Tow Hitch

Hi Aaron,

Just back from a trip up the Oodnadatta Track, to Halligan Bay (Lake Eyre), the Painted Desert, Kings Canyon in the West Mac's then on to Palm VAlley via the Mereenie Loop and down through the Finke Gorge - towing my Campomatic. Did about 4,500Km's over 11 days - awesome trip. The trailer towed like a dream on the Mitchell Hitch, even through the Finke Gorge where we travelled through deep sand, creek crossings and deeply rutted spots that would have probably seen 'the plow' ripped off.

Couldn't be happier.

Cheers,
Martin

That's Martin's territory TBH. PM him, I'm sure he would be happy to answer your questions.
