Hi Norto,
The current RSP on our hitch is $495-00 inc GST, it will be more when Kaymar get their hands on it. It is likely to go to the $500 mark plus GST. We have units ready for dispatch.
About a year ago I had a rather solid 4x6 box trailer custom made for the D3 (same will width and same wheels for that matter) and for the Mitchell hitch (Tregg towbar higher than normal to match Mitchell hitch height). It all works a dream. Extra height = more clearance. Also use the hitch as a raised step to access the roofrack. Painted the hitch when new and no rust. Would really suggest having the spare tyre also mounted at back on bumper as it helps prevent backing the hitch into someone's radiator Jim Dowell - D4 HSE TDi, 12,000 hydraulic winch & hidden winch mount, MTRs, TyreDog, Traxide 2 x aux battery system, fixed air compressor, Dolium roof rack, MitchHitch.

I fitted your hitch on the weekend, easy to fit and
should be great to tow with.......but i have two small criticisms.
The two bolts that go throught the bottom of the bar need to be 3mm
shorter to stop them tightening against the rear "crossmember"
and the gal dipping process seems to not be "complete" enough to
cover everything.Pete

Just back home after 16 weeks and nearly 20,000 kilometers (16378 towing our Ultimate off-road camper) across the Simpson, Tanami track, Gibb River Road, Savanna Way,....
Some really extreme towing conditions!!!
My early production version has been fantastic. Painted it, fitted it (had to do a bit of grinding of surface to fit and shorten bolts).
Believe these minor allignment problems have been fixed.
Also the bush has been improved (will have to contact Aaron to get updated version) - I coped by tightening the top bolt a couple of times as the bush loosened. (this only allowed slight movement).
Everyone who tows should have one!!!'S' TDV6, Air suspension, Terrain Response, Active rear diff, Safari Snorkel, Opposite Lock rear wheel carrier, OL drawer system, Cargo Barrier, Dual batteries with Rotronics isolator, GME 3440 UHF. Good idea to make sure you have tightened the bolts properly in the first place and that they are still tight. Make it part of the pre trip check list.

Towing Hitch
Well finally got my hitch all painted and intalled a week ago. Fitted up really nicely, quite an easy job and looks like it was factory supplied (better?). Even my wife commented that it looked far better than the ridiculous factory thing. Went to a tow bar supplier for a tongue (they manufacture them) and they found one of exactly the right height, which fits flush with the end of the hitch - so minimal rear extension of the towing pivot point.
It's still pristine at this stage, but we head off to WA on Sunday for 4 wks with the Campamatic, so it will get a good workout. We're planning to head across the Nulabor, turn off at Balladonia and follow a 4WD track down to Israelite Bay then thru Esperance and around the coast to Perth. Depending on time, may go up to Geraldon and across the Great Central Highway back to SA.
Cheers,

Hi Norto,
With respect to the 2 bolts underneath, did you make sure the washer was underneath in between the bolt and the hitch or on the top side between the nut and the chassis??

new MB hitch
I have just ordered a MB hitch for my MY 2008 TDV6SE. I have a 2.4t Supreme Getaway on 16" wheels with a Treg hitch. Aaron asked me to measure the distance down from the centre of the OE recovery hook to the top of the "new" tongue. Every time I measured, I got a slightly different reading. I have settled on 14.5 cm. Does this sound OK to others with a similar rig?

Aaron, have had your hitch for a while but first chance to use it last weekend towing my comp truck from Mackay to Rocky and back (over 700ks). It towed this ltrailer ike it wasn't there. I would not have liked to do this with the factory LR hitch. Great product.
