Happy 1st b-day to this thread...
Is God willing to prevent evil, but not able? Then he is not omnipotent.
Is he able, but not willing? Then he is malevolent.
Is he both able and willing? Then whence cometh evil?
Is he neither able nor willing? Then why call him God?

I suppose it has only taken the Disco3 formun a year to come up with a final supplier. 8)
I didn't start with my idea till June though, so ten months to get this one sorted. “There are only three sports: bullfighting, motor racing, and mountaineering; all the rest are merely gamesâ€

I appreciate all of the effort and ideas that has gone on in this thread - if it was 10 months I'm sure it has been worth the wait.
Thanks to all who participated and Aaron for taking the risk to invest time and money in designing and making the hitch. Hip Hip Horay to Mitchell Bros

I have received my hitch from Aaron and it is easy to fit.
Many many thanks to Mitchell bros.
Only thing is the hitch activates the reversing sensors. I understand that rotating them 90 degrees does not work. Has anyone found a solution to this last piece of the puzzle.

Sensor Modification
Post edited degree figure corrected.
Moving the sensor and surround by about 75 degrees away from the hitch works. 90 degeees will cause sensors to go off because they are pointing too low.
Moved mine 90 then back about 15 degrees when I found it to register uneven ground.
You can move sensors without taking off the skin by undoing the screws holding the skin then pulling it away from the bumper. It is easier with someone to help holding a torch so you can see what you are doing.
Note position of sensors in next post. “There are only three sports: bullfighting, motor racing, and mountaineering; all the rest are merely gamesâ€

Intall mod for Mitchell Bros Hitch
Finally got my hitch. Thought I should post what it looks like.
The hitch comes standard in zinc coat. I decided to paint mine with bumper black.Etch prime followed bt four coats of paint.

I cut out a slot in the cover plate to slide behind the tow hitch.

I added 'handles' to the slotted twist fitting by plastic welding.

Old D2 tongue gives the right height for a standard trailer.
Sticks out a bit but ok for small downforce loads.

One like this would be better.

All in all looks good haven't needed to test it yet.

Reverse Parking Sensors
NOTE
Previous post on reverse sensors edited. My apologies maths not so good.
More details:
You need to do this modification before installing the hitch or remove before doing so.
Undo the screws holding the bottom of the rear bumper skin, the skin is the plastic bit over the top of the steel bumper bar. The screws are along the bottom of the rear bumper to the left and right of the hitch.
The sensor is housed in a plastic housing that clips into the bumper skin with slits as guides.
Put hand between steel bar and plastic skin, ( don't be afraid to pull hard on the skin, it will go back!) unclip the sensor from the housing and push in from the outside, (towards the inside of the bumper skin) you will find it easier to see what you are doing with someone with a torch helping you.
Now you need to remove the housing. This is done by pushing the clip inside the housing from the outside of the bumper skin and push the housing out (towards the outside of the bumper skin).
You will need to turn each sensor housing 75 degrees away from the tow hitch. Mark where the guide slots will need to be and cut new slots for the new position of the housing.
Replace the housings in new position, push the sensors back into the housings.
Replace bumper skin screws.
Usual caveats apply.“There are only three sports: bullfighting, motor racing, and mountaineering; all the rest are merely gamesâ€

Re Mitchell Tow Bar
I am having trouble with the 2 washers and nyloc nuts down the bottom of the plate on the inside - they do not sit flat against the casting - how did the rest of you get on with this problem?Maya Gold June 05 Disco3 HDV6 HSE AT2 Tyres Mitchell Bros Tow Hitch

The nuts need to be above the casting so only the bolt heads and washers shows below.
Order from top:
Nyloc nut washer bolt head.
Is this how you have installed.
The washers are too large to fit on top.“There are only three sports: bullfighting, motor racing, and mountaineering; all the rest are merely gamesâ€

Thanks for that, I must have misread the instructions and tried to put the washers under the nuts. Will try under the bolt head instead. Thanks for the replyMaya Gold June 05 Disco3 HDV6 HSE AT2 Tyres Mitchell Bros Tow Hitch
