V8 Autobox, amber EPBbrake light, no fault listed

Hi guys, I have read and read but can't find any info on this issue.
2006 v8 SE
The EPB works just fine. What does is my baby crying over?

Automatic------disqualifies XYZ switch fault

No water or coffee spilled on EPB switch/lever

No fault listed via Gap IID diagnostic Tool

Any assistance would be enormously appreciated!

Paul

To answer this question.... IIDtool users.

After reading and reading, I have found the issue at stake.....

Before updating the instrument pack ECU, please read the following:
•On 2005-2006 north american vehicles only, the amber «parking brake» indicator light replaces the «check engine» light. If these differences bothers you, do not update the IPC Instrument Pack ECU. It is also possible to eliminate these differences by replacing the dials facia with the 2007 and up one.

TA-DAH! MAF sensor needs replacing after reading engine lean on bank one and two codes.

I updated the instrument pak to get the clock to show on the facia.

very interesting post as I've had this today BUT had no fault codes when the garage read it.

What got me was that it happened after a brake fluid change and brake work in the garage yesterday, so it seemed plausible it was just the system 'adjusting'

Where did you get those notes from about the software change?

Hello

These notes were lifted from the Gap Diagnostics manual for the IIDtool they sell. It is singularly as important to me as owning the Land Rover itself! My case seems specific as described, to North American vehicles.

After looking around the web and reading all I could, I remember somebody had what you describe. It was attributed to a brake wear sensor that was not connected properly. A code was not thrown either, so it was pretty cryptic. You mentioned brake work being done, so I would start there.
Good luck and am keen to hear if you find a fix. Thumbs Up
