Ask the tester if he would pass it if the nozzles were off and the holes taped over? ....... Just out of interest of course!

Don't forget the headlamp washers don't spray each time you pull the lever. Its once every 8 or 10 times I think that the headlights get sprayed. More often if in various Terrain Response modes.

They could pull the stalk, get no headlamp wash. Doesn't mean the system doesn't work, just the car isn't 'ready' to wash its face yet Whistle

Is it a difficult job to make the headlamp washers work?

I thought it was just a matter of fitting the pump and plumbing, assuming you've got the nozzles on the bumper.

Or does it need the entire washer bottle changed?

Xenons must have washers. An empty bottle would be a failure reason (same as empty windscreen washer bottle).

Excuse my ignorance but is there a separate bottle for the headlamp washers then?

Cheers,

Mine's an 08 plate TDV6. It has headlamp wash and was fitted with halogens as standard, now upgraded to Xenons.

The headlamp wash works when the headlamps are on, AND the screenwash bottle is not 'LOW'. Just been out to test it.

So check the 'Low washer fluid' message is not showing.

I take it testing the washers is a two person job? (one to wash and one watch) Question

PS - thanks Mikey - I guess I read the post wrong. Thumbs Up

Cheers,

Darren

Well, as it happened, on mine you can see the spray from the driver's seat. but what I did was simply dried the lamps off first then operated the washer and went to the front to see if they were wet... Thumbs Up
