Is it possible to lock the diff on a base model manual D3?
Afraid my 2007 Base D3 is bereft of all the wonderful electronic wizardry that graces the more salubrious models. Just wondering if the diffs can be made to lock?2007 Base D3 - Buckingham Blue

You can do anything with time and money It can when others can't,
It will when others won't,
It goes where others don't.

If I understand the situation correctly, Only Vehicles that had it optioned in, have the rear Diff Lock. Even on HSE Models. All came with Central lock obviously
Could be wrong, but thats my understanding of it.------

It varies depending on market. There are a lot more locking rear diffs in the States as it came bundled with the HD package which had a tempting price.Land Rover - Turning Drivers into Mechanics Since 1948

My understanding is they all have the picture, but the car will only have the locking diff if optioned. It works automatically.

Locking diff icon should only show if you have a locking diff, as per spooky's write up on adding a locking rear diff. He clearly shows a before and after shot of the 4x4 screen clarifying this

@Tom d
All have the "padlock" in the pictogram, but not all have the locking diff
on the car.
Look from underside, up to the diff, if there is a locking diff, You will se a
solenoidhouse on the upper left side of the diff.
And if there is one, it will live it´s own Life, locking when necessary,
and not locking when not necessary..
