part number for PS hose

Found the leak from my Power steering - its the hose that goes down nearest the fan - can anyone tell me the part number for a VIN Number 6A. Is it easy to replace?

Cheers for any advice

Has anyone had a section of the PS hose replaced - or do you have to replace the whole assembly? The split is in the middle of the rubber pipe - would an Indy just replace the section of Hose?

I only read the thread because I was inquisitive as to what a PS hose was

And baring in mind I'm probably the least mechanical member on this forum

And because no one else has answered ?

I would say replace the whole pipe, I'm not sure replacing a section of pipe is going to be a robust enough solution ? The pipe you need whichever piece that may be will come with the unions already attached !

Personally I'd always take it to an Indy, I'd also take it to a main dealer but as I'm mechanically inept I have no choice ?

If my reading of the parts catalogue is right though the pipe is in one big section with lots of metal unions and sections that are ok on mine - Its just one section of rubber hose thats been rubbed. And the part from LR is £175!

Yep

That sounds about right, everything starts at about £100 so an important bit to do with steering should be at least that much !

Try Nick, the Large One from Yeovil land Rover
He does about 20% off parts, he's a top bloke and a purveyor of fine Chilli Jam !

I still stick to my earlier post, even if I could I'd still get an expert to fit it !

Is the circled section the part of the ps hose that passes near the fan? I'm trying to assess whether the hose I've just bought from ebay is the right one!! Embarassed
