nasty grinding sound when turning really sharp ...

Hi everyone I am new to the forum. Have had my Discovery 3 since May and is a true work horse towing everyday. Had it serviced around 6 weeks ago all fine. But has just started making a grinding nosie when turning tight never happens when driving along a road normally but at junctions you can hear it. I do a lot of tight manoeuvring with my trailer so need to get it sorted fast .. I took it to where I had it serviced and the thought it was a bearing but changed it and the noise it still there.

Any ideas??

I know it's not considered "kind" to say no these days, but no. Just no, ok? And if it's not ok, still no.

Would that really cause it to make a knocking noise?? I am no mechanic, sounds like a UJ is knocking to me..

It's difficult to diagnose faults from behind a computer when all we have to go on is “grinding“, which then changed to “knocking“...

Get the front wheels in the air, get under there and have a look/listen/feel...

Thumbs Up

CV joints or driveshaft if it's a clicking/knocking noise.

Steering stops or wheel bearing if it's a grinding noise.

The bearing has been changed as far as I can see so that eliminates that unless it was a dodgy one - very unlikely Confused

CV is next
