I suppose it's the same as anything - it pretty much decides on who you get to do it
You could take it to one body shop to have it sprayed and filled and they could make a balls of it where another one could do it and you couldn't tell it's been done.
Same with pointless dent removal I guess.
The guy I had was recommended to me which normally helps in deciding.
