Having a bike and riding it to work
1. Keeps me fit (tendency to be a lard - it's in my genes )
2. helps me to justify the fuel costs of having a V8
Work is only 2.5 miles from home, and any car doesn't really like journeys when it doesn't even open the thermostat on the cooling system. Also I can then go out with the kids on their bikes, not sure a 5 yo driving a G4 is such a good idea Craig

Bikes are like cars, yes you can get the halfrauds old bedstead and hate riding it every time you have to haul it up a hill or it fails to change gear but nowadays Bikes are super-specialised, you can get all sorts of stuff for all sorts of pursuits.... if you are into 'tech' engineering, there is a niche for you...suspension, preload/afterload, off-road/trail tyres, hydraulic brakes, etc ...bit like D3 s really...fun to play with both on-road, off road and for 'fettling'
plus, the huge bonus of actually might buy you added life-years in terms of fitness
personally, I (and the kids) never ride on the public highway but I know lots of people do.
check out some of the downhill / XC / Enduro videos on the web for a taste of whats out there.......Mountain Biking seems to dovetail quite nicely with D3 ownership
Just my £0.02 worth 2007 HSE Java Black.....sold

Just out of interest for those guys wanting a Thule 903 they are available on ebay and I can highly reccomend his service and price is great. I would suggest you buy the 13 to 7 pin adaptor at the same time (I didn't!)
If you can't find it, then PM me! Stornoway Discovery 3 XS Auto
