Love the clam shell type tents for convienience but you have to kick your muddy boots off halfway up the ladder or sit in the opening to remove shoes.
As Ray says, howling moon with an awning so comfortable to sleep on a proper mattress plus its darker than the blackhole of calcutta on sunny days due to the thickness of the material.

see that looks great scuzzy,
something else swinging me to a magnolia is the fact i only have the LR roof bars not an expo rack, am i right in thinking that for one of these magnificent tents I'd need one, this makes the mag even more attractive, as well as the low profile in transit etc etc. no word from discodad

Nope...fine on roof bars in fact the mounting systems on all roof systems cater for bars rather than racks.
Boab recomend rhino bars, but thats only because they sell them, just check what the LR load rating is as you will have the weight of the rack plus people."you cannot teach stupid people to do clever things"

Hoowling Moon for me. I have had this one for about 5 years and it has always been fine. It often just lives on the car well past the camping/challenge season due to my laziness
