plastic trim
Hi guys,
got my disco 3 3 weeks ago and so far loving it.
I have an early problem, was driving down the m74 on Friday at around 80mph and the plastic trim at the front pillar between passenger door and windscreen came loose. i had to pull it off.
Is this a regular issue? Any idea of the cost to fix? any reputable land rover garages in the west of scotland?
Thanks
stewart

If what you describle is the A pillar trim ....
It gets removed for a few reasons ...and without being careful the clips can be easily broken/snapped on the main trim .... so if someone has broken the clips on the main trim then you'll need to replace it .... (dont panic I did mine the updated kit is below £10 )
Search TLO short for The Large One he provides parts with a forum discount and works for Yeovil LR so you'll get it cheaper !! sent him a PM message and he'll get back to you ..... he's been great gettiing my stuff for me
There was an associated design fault with that pillar and associated clips .... it lead to water ingress or water leaking within the cabin and LR produced a revised set of clips/patches that attached the trim to the car.
This explains it fully ... a new trim is £35 ish but if you search A pillar trim on flea bay some are for sale in breakers for £10
So a £10 for clips and £10 2nd hand trim.... potential fix ..... £20 D4 Front upgrade/cut back wings n things 'taking a long time but getting there'.
D4 rear upgrade - Narpys helped with that bit
Flack for problem solving and D4 Bluetooth Install/ D4 Heated Steering wheel with Flappy paddles n BBS enabling kit
Disco Mikeys work - Serviced, EGR blanking and 4x4 software upgrade, 3 flash indicators.
B.A.S - FBHIC. Uncle Rays spare wheel protector. Beanie Silver Black badges.

Happened to me a few weeks ago, at speed. Nearly had to change my underpants! Duct tape did the trick until I could fully remove and re-fix. No probs since.
