No, won't fit. Get 17" D3 wheels, they're cheap enough 06 D3 SE / 15 LR D90 XS SW / 88 LR 90 Td5 / 68 BMW 2000 ti

No such thing as an ideal set up. Any set up is a load of capability wrapped up in another load of compromises, especially when you bung an "etc" in there. Hence no two D3s set up for offroading are identical. All part of the fun.

Hi, New to the D3 and I am wondering why there is such a wide range of wheel sizes? Mine (base model) has 17 inch but I am told you can go up to 22 inch which seems a big jump in size.
Is it just about fashion and appearance or does the wheel size have an effect on final gear ratios or ride comfort? I seem to remember having big wheels on a previous car (not a D3) but the tyres where quite a low profile and it gave a harsh ride.... I guess it is one of those things that is more complicated than you would think!

17, 18 & 19 are official sizes, others are aftermarket and not "approved" for use on a D3.

No real world difference in OEM tyre circumference between wheel sizes. Fashion/styling only.
Same as any car, the D3 is no different.06 D3 SE / 15 LR D90 XS SW / 88 LR 90 Td5 / 68 BMW 2000 ti

It's worth bearing in mind that if you want to fit the bigger brakes from a V8 D3, which is a popular modification, 17" rims do not fit. You have to fit 18" rims or bigger.
As has already been said, it's down to personal preference etc. but I found 18" rims with the LR o/e size 255-60-18 tyre was the best combination on my previous D3.

As has already been said, the 17" rims are popular with some o/r users, partly as the BFG AT and MT tyres fit ( 17" 245/70).
I'd start by thinking about which tyre you want to run as this may determine the rim size (eg BFG don't do a tyre for the larger wheels, but I think General Grabber do)
It is important to make sure that you don't change the circumference too much - ideally within 2.5% of original, preferably closer if you can. There are plenty of tyre calculators out in the wonderweb, eg
