Disable alarm to remove battery
My car has broken down think alernator where I can't get mains to it so need to remove the battery without the alarm sounding its in block of flats car park underground. I've tried turning it off with the fob . But when I remove the neg cable alarm sounds. I know it must be simple but I'm stuck , how do I disable the alarm to remove the battery? PM me if concerns about open forums but I've tend to find criminals already know how to do this.
The battery is 4 months old goosed with car running the internal diag volt reading was 11.5 to 12v when normally it showed 13.5 when car was running.

If the car is asleep and you remove the neg cable the alarm should not sound at all….
The alarm back-up sounder is easy enough to disable; some do it as a matter of course to force the car to use the horns for the alarm.Land Rover - Turning Drivers into Mechanics Since 1948

Sounds like your alternator's had it, mate - there's no way the voltage should be that low with the engine running, even with a flat battery.Regards,

Yeap thats my thought, ive brought down my 36mm spanner and thing to remove fan . So re Alarm all I need to do to remove the battery to charge without alarm is unlock car with key fob, leave for 30 mins to be sure its asleep with bonnet open and then disconnect neg cable , then pos. And hopefully the internal alarm sounder wont blare and pee the whole block off.

all sorted alarm didn't sound once car fully asleep. Alternator replaced and all is good with the world thx for replys.

I have to change my battery tomorrow. Can you explain what you mean by 'fully asleep'?

The car needs to go to sleep, which takes a few minutes with the key fob away from the vehicle, before removing the negative cable first. On refitting fit the positive first and the negative last.
Best done with the car unlocked and the driver's window open, just in case."
