Philips and Osram lead the way. The standard bulbs give a yellowish white light.
My choice is the cool blue intense by Osram
I have just fitted the Philips xtreme plus to my D4 and they are a vast improvement over standard d3 bulbs. From yellow to white with wider beam.
Check our site for the d2s CBI osram
Best Regards Ian

I think i will opt for Osram xenarc Silverstar. It is the brightest out there and since I am not a big fan of blue output as many angry drivers on local highways, trust me , it is annoying to look at upcoming traffic . I drive long distances, so for less eye fatigue ,4300 or 4200 K would be my choice , since it is closer to natural light. Thanks

Thorgal. I have the same headlights on my car, same age as your's.
I fitted a set of Osram Cool Blue intense Xenarc bulbs. I got mine for £109 delivered from Amazon.
My headlights before couldn't illuminate much past 3 white lines distance on the road. They were terrible.
I fitted the above bulbs and got the lights adjusted and now i never need to use my high beams as the bulbs have such a good reach as standard.
Worth every penny imho. In loving memory of FA54WSK.
Rest well old friend, your work is done.

Thanks Ian and AJM.
The only bulbs, that pop up on Osram website as replacement for a Disco 3 are :
Xenarc Original which is now 4100 K
Xenarc Cool Blue Intense with 5000 K
Xenarc Siverstar with 4200 K( I believe )
.I don't think I need 20 m more of the light projection ,based on Silverstar, since ours is limited with gyro based louvers, right?Unless there is a way to adjust those louvers a little higher, then factory setting and achieve more light projection on the road. Now, when I watched few comparisons on Youtube with Cool Blue and Silverstar, people lean more towards the latter.I heard some tome a go that anything around 5000K will give you more light , but less chances to distinguish a person or dear walking along side the road. What do you guys think?
