Surely the 20mm extra in a standard tyre can't make all the difference?
It does also feel lower or am i being stupid..
I thought the difference between standard 255/50 and 275/45 was just 7mm in the total diameter of the tyre?
So that's 3.5mm lower! I'd be surprised if you can actually see that.

Here's a simple Excel Spreadsheet that calculates the diameter for various sizes & aspect ratios.

Downloaded, thank you.
That would indicate an even smaller difference of only 3mm in the height between the standard 20" tyre and 275/45.
That's about 3 months wear with my mileage!

its not the actual size thats the problem, its the way it looks to your eye, and 275/45's just look too small. Been there, done that (with wheels as well, a qucick look in my gallery will show the "few" sets of alloys I've been through - and 20" Stormers seem to the 20's that suit the car best)

Yep, Yoko's are what I run, have had 2 sets now. I thought Conti and Grabbers (UHP) came in 265/50x20's
just had a quick ebay scan, and can find Bridgestone, Nokian (winter), Hankook, Continental & Pirelli in 265/50x20, as well as Nexen/Lexani/Atturo rubbish.
You could always stick with the standard D4 20" spec of 255/50x20.

All sorts of weird and wonderful here, plus a few you might have heard of, inc. two different Yoko's:

Tracmax for £84 each Not for the faint hearted when braking, I suspect.

This is a simple and easy tyre size calculator, instant display of sidewall depth and speedo variance etc

Chuck a few numbers in and see what the best option for max sidewall depth would be Procrastination is the thief of time!!
