My 06MY SE Auto Cairns Blue has a fridge in there...... Doesn't yours?
If by cubbyhole you mean the one under the centre armrest, then no, all it has in there is a phone cradle, a trinket tray and as many cd cases as you can feasibly squeeze in there, plus one extra case for good measure (it's to make sure the cases don't rattle and also ensures several cases come out with cracks in them). I know it's not considered "kind" to say no these days, but no. Just no, ok? And if it's not ok, still no.

Wrong and wrong! Heated rear seats on the 06 SE were stopped for the 07MY. No fridge either!
Correct, I sat in the 07 in the local dealership and I can confirm the rear heated seats and the cubby box are not standard in the 07 SE. The sound system in the 07 SE is the Logic 7 as standard.

As you got the telephone kit fitted (extra?) you may have sacrificed the fridge, standard 06 SE i.e. no telephone, has a fridge under the centre armrest.

You can have both the fridge and a PTI kit, IIRC the only difference would be the fridge tray if you have the pti kit. 1996 Discovery 1 300TDI ES Biarritz Blue, sold

Right, it seems I may have some "chillin' tunes" in my cubbybox then. When I open the cubby cover the PTI cradle is in the back of the armrest, then there is a tray with a central section to accomodate the phone cradle when the lid is down, then the cubby hole. If this is the chiller/fridge, where would the switch be? There doesn't seem to be any switch on the rear of the cubby, except the ones for the heated rear seats. I know it's not considered "kind" to say no these days, but no. Just no, ok? And if it's not ok, still no.

The switch is at the centre of the front edge of the cooler, just rear of the latch.
If it's a cooler, the inside will be white, if it's non-cooled, it'll be black

If you have the cool box there should be a switch with a blue neon indicator at the top front centre (the tray will be shaped around the switch), also the lining of the cubby hole will be white. If you have a normal cubby box it should be black with I believe a business card holder slot at the top front under the tray. 1996 Discovery 1 300TDI ES Biarritz Blue, sold

but yours is more informative
No reason why it can't be retrofitted although some dealers have declined to do it in the past

I believe that someone on this site has already done this, not sure who though - I believe that the wiring might actually be there already. Costs I'm not sure but have seen a couple of these going on ebay (none at the moment though). 1996 Discovery 1 300TDI ES Biarritz Blue, sold

Damnit, no fridge! Ah well, it's not like the boot isn't big enough to take a Halfords plug-in coolbox. And it's generally frowned upon to delve around for a nice cool beer while sat in a traffic jam on the motorway these days. I know it's not considered "kind" to say no these days, but no. Just no, ok? And if it's not ok, still no.

DaveT wrote:Help!
What would I gain by changing from 2006 to 2007 MY SE? And if an order is placed now, will it be a 2007 MY or a 2008?
The L/r website isn't much help in comparing model years, and doesn't highlight the detail changes.
I guess my question really is - is it worth changing a brand new 06 model for a new one ordered now, at a cost to change of £1500
Opinions please!
Dave, So what you going to do, 06 or 07?????

8) Ebay. Why didn't I think of that? There was an 06 SE breaking on ebay recently. May see if I can find the details and drop the bloke a line. I know it's not considered "kind" to say no these days, but no. Just no, ok? And if it's not ok, still no.
