My car Land Rover Range Sport 2.7td, 2007, currently has 310,000 km, now I'm wondering if I have to put a new pump??

If you look at the side you should see how to release with a small flat blade screwdriver.

Did the rear belt today, a bit faffing, but a lot better than expected. Removed the coolant pipe and probably too much of the wiring loom and connectors. Didn't remove the cover behind the pulleys right away, which was a mistake. Jammen the belt between the right pulley and the cover, and had to cut the belt and then violently yank the belt loose...
One question to those in the know, can you tell the mfg date from the old belt? The old one looks to me like it was manufactured in 2006, my car is MY08 but assembled in 07.

there is a MFG Date stamp on the belt tensioner. My experience is that the belt will be from the same year. From all rear belts I have replaced so far the tensioner date stamp was never older than 3 months the day I fitted these so date being pretty accurate.

This is the tensioner, can't really make out any date on it, unless 210110 is a date, which would make no sense at all. The hard coating on the roller it self has a thin edge where it's worn, so it must have seen a few miles.

Hi guys, hoping for some advice. Apologies for adding to the old post...

I replaced the timing belts and oil pump, then had a failure a week or so later... Anyway, I've replaced the broken bits and put it back together with a new belt etc. and have noticed that whilst turning the engine the tension seems to change on the belt? As the engine turns the mark on the tensioner moves past the window (implying increased tension), and then comes back to the correct spot by the time the engine has done a full revolution. FoMoCo oil pump fitted and Dayco belts/idlers etc. with bolts torqued to spec.

I've seen this on other cars/engines, but haven't noticed it on the TDV6 before (not that I've really looked). It runs fine (even better than it did before the failure), but as I never found a definite cause I'm wondering if this is normal or if it could have been what caused the failure? If it's not normal, any idea what to look for?

Done to death I know and may have already been mentioned ....BUT

You don't have to take the starter out to fit the crankshaft tool.

Unbolt the fuel cooler that allows enough room to jiggle the starter out of the way enough to fit the tool,no need to remove/electrically disconnect it

Adds about 15mins to the job over the tippex method
