Site Donations
Hello all, there is now a donate link on the forum toolbar if you wish to contribute and assist in accelerating DISCO3's development and help fund better software and features for everyone to use and enjoy. You will also help keep the site running as the cost to host it increases as our popularity grows
It's on the end just before the Log out (or Log in) option:
A huge THANK YOU to all those who have found it already and donated 06 D3 SE / 15 LR D90 XS SW / 88 LR 90 Td5 / 68 BMW 2000 ti
Any issues with the site let me know!

I've already sent some dough - but are you going to issue any guidelines regarding what size of donation is appropriate in order for members to benefit from your additional work based on a realistic revenue - obviously some members may think that 50p is adequate - others £50 - a minority would perhaps sell their house But I think it would be a good idea to give some guidance.

I'd say it's a balance between what you can afford and what the benefit of the sites existence is... maybe the same as a subscription to couple of glossy magazines each month?
Personally, I'd feel uncomfortable having a range set as everyone will have a different view of the sites worth - which may put some off donating - if there's 100 users that want to donate 50p... or one that wants to donate their house / wife / kids, it's their choice
after all, you're paying for that warm fuzzy feeling you get knowing you've done something good today

I agree it's difficult TFC - but if Martin ends up with £12.76p after 6 months then the site won't ultimately benefit.
What about targets like the Red Cross use - ie "£2 will buy us a donkey" if Martin gave monetary targets to achieve benefits then he could encourage payments with shortfall updates.
