Hey guys, got quoted $520 for oil service A by my local Trivett dealer
At first I thought I heard wrong as my car is only 6 months old, he then tells me it is not ONLY an oil change they do a full check up of the car and plug it to the computer blah blah blah.
I end up still making the service appointment for next Monday, but will call up Alto at Artarmon tomorrow to see if cheaper there.
Any Sydney owners wanna comment? is $520 for first oil service the norm here!?
Oh also looking to get a set of side steps, he quoted me about $1800 fitted. Part alone $1400 the rest labour.
*sigh*

I bought mine from Trivett in parramatta
i told them it was too far to take it to them to get it serviced (300km)
and got it done locally, cost $185 plus filters
Have you been on Trivetts drive day, make sure you go if you get the chance its a great day

Not sure how much the 6 month service costs (am on corporate package), but $520 seems a bit steep. i bought mine from trivett on crown st. try calling Fred Martin @ Trivett LR Service in Waterloo and get him to quote you.
also, the trivett day is fantastic. i did it a couple of months back ... was a great day out 2009 Discovery 4 3.0 TDV6 HSE

Hey norto, I do have a mate whos a VW & Audi specialist that can do an oil change if needed. But I need the Vehicle Enhancement done anyway, so might aswell go to the dealer.

Hey bashir, we also bought ours from Land Rover on Crown, Robert Carrington sold us the car. And yes, it was Fred who I made the service appointment with haha.
And you guys reminded me about that Trivett Day, its been 6 months and we havent been contacted to go on one I was told they needed to wait and gather up enough owners to get the next one going, then I will be contacted. When did you guys got to go? they send you a letter, a call or what!?
OK back to the 6 months or 12000 A Service. I made some calls today...
Alto Artarmon - $560
Trivett Parramatta - $480 + Side Steps supplied fitted $1676
hmm just on the side steps Parramatta is nearly $200 cheaper than my dealer (also a Trivett) hmm
Should I ask my dealer to price match their Parramatta dealer? Are service costs even negotiable!?

Service Costs - Gold Coast |
|
12,000 k service yesterday cost $299.10 (sounded like a KMart bargain!)
Items requiring attention
1) 12,000KM or 6Month service as per schedule - $121
2) Body corrosion check (part of service) - no charge
3) Driver's seat checked for adjustment (movement noticed; referred to LRA for action required - no charge
4) Improper tyre wear noted on all 4 - wheel alignment and trye rotation and balance - Warranty
Parts
RO1311289 - Oil filter - $28.49
NGWR08923333 - Windscreen additive - $2.44
Mobil 1 10W-40 - $102
Misc
Shop supplies - $10
Hazardous waste removal - $8
Goods and Services Tax - $27.19
Car wash and treat tyres with shiny stuff - no charge
Seems a bit short of $520 that UB was quoted - wonder what else they do for that cost?

UB,
I chased my drive day through Michael Munro @ Trivett who is the guy that organises the day. I went on my drive day nearly 1 year after the purchase.
Michael told me also about getting enough people before they can organise a day. Michael called me when the Crown St Day had been organised and then sent out a letter re: activities on the day with directions. So keep chasing Michael, it is a great day. 2009 Discovery 4 3.0 TDV6 HSE

G'day Norto
I was in for the 24000K service but they also did the following:
Service Action A034 Air Suspension Compressor Failure (Don't know about this as I am on my third compressor and since being fitted no problems....touch wood.
Service Action A036 Vehicle Enhancement Program. Gather that this is just a computer upgrade.
I can understand them not getting back to you. Their Service Department for LR is now located with the Jeep/Chrysler/Jag/Volvo Dealership (just down the road from the old location) and they are still in the throws of coming to grips with LR.
I did not have a recall and there was no charge.
Regards
