But I'm still in Sweden so can't try it out
Never mind, I will be home on Thursday and after saying hi to the wife and kids I'll be out with the D3 plugging it in

I'm interested in one of these units, but is there anyway to configure it to two vehicles, as there are two Disco 3's in the household?

Hiya Alan
I also got your PM on the subject
Sorry to be a while responding, however it is currently the Easter break, but more importantly i have needed to deliberate a little while on how best to respond to your question and particular requirements.
In essence, the FCR can be locked to a number of VINS, and even different models. However we do not currently offer this for a couple of reasons. Firstly it would overly complicate the choices we offer from our web shop. Secondly, when you start getting into covering multiple vehicles, we already have our MSV-2 that does that. Thirdly, the FCR is primarily designed to be a "keep in the car for emergencies" tool and sods law says that if it covers 2 vehicles or more, it would always be in the wrong vehicle when you need it. Fourthly, the FCR is already very inexpensive for what it offers already.
So what i have decided is this, If you really do still want to put a second Vehicle on an FCR, i will make specially arrange that, however the cost will be another 99 GBP per additional vehicle. But you will qualify for discount on that.

Hi Colin,
I consider a wheel alignment for my D3. For that it has to go into some geometry setup mode. The tire centre that i would prefer to do the job, can't put in into that mode.
Do you have a device that is able to put it into this mode. and if so what is the cheapest device or configuration that can do the job. I might try to persuade the company into bying such a device themselves but if they don't want to do that, I might consider a single vehicle licenced device
Please advice,
Bernd

Thanks spooky
Yea Berndv, as spooky says, the MSV-2 can easily set the EAS into the right mode for wheel alignment.
The cheapest option for this is the SV122 single kit @676.80 GBP althought most pay the bit extra to go to the SV222 kit with the Extreme server at 725.40 GBP. the extra benefit far out weighs the cost.
My advice is to start with one of these and if your company is impressed you can upgrade to Multi vehicle with no additional cost penalty. Ie just paying the difference.

Hiya Billy56, yep, you do need to contribute a bit more yet rather than just lurk around reading, but if you get yourself into at least early 30's with a few helpful contributions with your membership period you won't find me inflexible

Hi Collin,
Thanks, for the info. For just the wheel alignment it is quite an expensive device, but being a gadget freak I am realy considering the msv2 extreme or at least the faultmate.
The only question is buy now or wait a few months. I fully understand you don't want to give a discount to people joining the forum just for the discount. But I am sure there are more like me, signing up as soon as the decision was made that the next car would be a D3. Being a proud owner of a D3 after a month of searching for my dream car, I want to start getting the most out of my new baby immediately but a 6 month's membership is still far away. So now you are puting me for the question. Buy a faultmate now or wait a few month's to get the discount and buy the msv2. I am quite confident that I will still be around in a few months and have a good number of posts on my name. (For now they are of the asking kind but as my knowledge grows I hope to contribute some answers as well.). So waiting will certainly pay. I am afraid I am of the impatient kind though so not sure yet.
Cheers,
Bernd

I'll be ordering one very soon....the Aus dollar is doing pretty well against the Euro and this little bit of gear is a "must have" in my opinion.

Colin
done my best with contributions to the site although always feel outgunned in the spanner/multimeter department. Am I ok for that little discount incentive
Assuming this is ok how do I order?
regards
pjv
PS Following up on the 2 vehicle discussion is this something you can retrofit at the additional cost - we've FL2 and D3 in the family
Hi Colin,
as I said some posts earlier, I've definitely bitten the bullet, so I've just placed, in the middle of night, an order for the FCR for my D3.
I'm just fed up of the "faults cleared" message every time I come from the stealership, no explanations about the faults neither what has been corrected.
And... I find that the V8 es neither as smooth nor as powerful as it was 3 moths before. Maybe one coil, maybe misfiring, maybe one injector, maybe O2 sensors (lambda sond), but the check engine light is off.
So, it's time for the your magic weapon to help me solve my particular issue.
Thanks for developing such a great product.
All the best from Spain
P.s. I will edit my profile picture as my D2 is quite old fashioned... time to give way to my v8 d3.
