You can buy them from Rovers North... Only $425 apiece Shocked

TireRack isn't going to have much clout. Find a Goodyear rep and give him an earful. I have Razz

There are some other options if you buy 18's, as I mentioned on another thread link here to a discussion we're having on MuddyOval.com:

Have you test fitted them?

IF SO, thank you very much. This is what I was looking for! I can get a set of X3/X5 rims far cheaper than the LR rims.

I have not tested them but the firm who imports them to Norway says they will fit and they are aware of the caliper size. But an e-mail to Germany could confirm this. I think the germans must have tested it. .

Thank you. My German is very rusty, but I'll give it a whirl.

Since you have a TDV6, I'm not confident the 17's will fit... But even knowing 18" BMW rims will fit is a huge help, as those are much easier to find cheaply than Land Rover rims.

I was recently in the USA and took the opportunity to inspect an LR3. What I found interesting was that they do not provide a spare alloy wheel, but substitute a steel wheel with a 175/80R19 tyre. Unfortunately the actual wheel size is not given in the LR3 brochure.

As I am not a great believer in alloy wheels for off-road use, as in my opinion they are too easily damaged, it strikes me that if a suitable off-road type was available this would make a much better choice than alloys. These should also work out a lot cheaper than 4 alloys!

It would be interesting to know if any of our US owners can find a part number on their steel spare wheel.

It had to been an SE as my HSE has an alloy spare.

Martin- You scared me for a moment Laughing ... I always assumed I had a 5th alloy down there but had to go look!!

I agree about alloys on the trail... Ive already chewed the hell out of mine.

Tim, sorry did not mean to cause near heart attack!

Indeed you are right it was an SE, but the US LR3 brochure, page 44, does imply that both the SE and the HSE have the steel spare wheel, and that a full size tire and aluminum alloy wheel is optional (extra).

Talking with the salesman in Houston he lead me to believe that, at least for this dealership, they were ordering their LR3’s with many extras. This may have been what happened with your HSE. You lucky man!

The North American LR3 has a full-size spare only if ordered with the Heavy Duty Package. My pre-order sheet made it quite clear what I was buying in the Heavy Duty Package.

It's right there on the specifications sheet, under "Comfort and Convenience":

http://www.landroverusa.com/us/en/Vehicles...leheading2

"Heavy Duty Package with active locking rear differential, full-size spare tire and alloy wheel"
