should be able to use the shorter two new bolts in the pack?
I had to use the shorter bolts to fix the plate at the front tube, because the longer pair of bolts was too long to fit into the tube. That left the longer bolts for replacing the LR bolts at the rear of the plate.
Nash: are you saying that you can't even re-fit the original bolt anymore (without the Mantec plate)? Or do I misread your post

yes (I think?)
Yes, with some patience you can maneuver the nut onto the bolt. I used a small spanner to hold the nut when I tightened the bolt. You must use a socket wrench on the front bolts because the heads sink into the plate. 2006 Zermatt Silver TDV6 'SE' Auto, Mantec sump guard, Frontrunner roofrack, Lightforce 140s, split charge system and... a Jetboil.

Nash, did you mean hold the nut inside the black square tube or on top of the black square tube?
I think the nut is supposed to be on top of the black square tube, and you feed the bolt up through the Mantec plate from underneath and through the black square tube...Dr. Ian Malcolm:

Ha, you've brought back fond memories... when I fitted mine a couple of months ago I started off by very nearly driving off the steep end of my dad's ramps

Fitted mine this afternoon in preparation for next weeks Boughrood trip
15 minutes including finding my 13mm spanner......
Had the same problem as Beaker, (bolt hitting the other side of the tube) but I've just not tightened them up all the way. Seems to be very solid all road. Will check the bolts before I use them next week again though.

I thought about whether to sell it or keep it, but I think I'll keep it in case I need to take the Plate off at some point. Sorry Wiggs.
Of course translated, that just means that when I have to take the plate off in a couple of years time, I'll just hunt around for teh plastic one & then end up buying a new one coz I'll have 'put it in a safe place'....... Bodsys Brake Bible
mantec are being funny bugg3rs and won't let me drive over, pay cash and have one at the group price. Even though they have one in stock and i live 10 mins away. . . ."To finish first, one first has to finish ...."

Can't say I'm too surprised Mantec had nothing to do with the 'Group Price' and the discount was only secured by purchasing a significant quantity of plates. That was the whole point of the group-buy. The price everybody paid this time round was actually less than the (current) trade cost price of the plate.
In fairness, I can't let you say that Mantec are being 'funny bugg3rs' as they are doing the same as any other retailer would do when offered less than cost for their product.........
Why not try your local LR dealer and offer them £34k for a D3HSE just because you are 10 mins away and they have got one on the forecourt
