Much the same with any parts JLR sell

You can't buy a 2.2 water pump, it only comes as part of a timing belt kit, at £280

But PSA sell the pump for £60 Confused

2006 Discovery 3 TDV6 SE Manual Tonga GreenDiscovery 3

And by the way, the delay in turning off the oil pressure warning light remains the same at the first start of the day ... sometimes it is instantaneous and other times it takes 2 or 3 seconds ... it depends on whether the pump is It has emptied or not since the previous day, I do not know what it depends on but it is always like that, I know because if I observe the cold oil level before the first start, 2 different things happen depending on which day, sometimes the level is at the maximum Therefore, the pump is empty and there is a delay in the warning light, others on the other hand, the level is a point below the maximum, therefore the pump remained full, and the warning light turns off instantaneously, I don't know why this happens, but ... that has always been done since the car was new in 2006, now it has 325,000 km of two manufactured timing rings and a new oil pump ...

Easy... it depends on which country they have the majority of workforce and pay their taxes...

UK “could” be far more expensive regarding that than France...

production and sales of whole cars does not cover all those expences... so parts sale has to make good profits...
 Best regards
Harold

Ireland 2006 Discovery 3 TDV6 Base 5 Seat Manual Bonatti GreyDiscovery 3

Firstly that 13 page read was well worth it. I knew the LR3 engine was a PSA model but it never dawned on me that I should be calling Citroen for parts!

So in Ireland the LR oil pump is €316+ Vat (382.36)
the Citroen Part is €169+vat (204.49)

The Citroen garage was shocked that it would be the same part and at the price of LR! He also said he has never had one in to their dealer for a Citroen car.

Can I ask a related question. What are people preferred Belts, I see Dayco mentioned. Is that what most people go for? And lastly when doing the front and rear belt, are there other belts worth doing while I have my guy in there?

Thanks
Fla

I have heard Dayco was OEM for 2.7d engine, so thats why people try to get Dayco kits.

I did buy this Citroen oil pump and it was FoMoCo stamped, replaced on my 2008 2.7d euro4 with DPF 190bhp engine. It definitely fits.
