The driver is using a red fuel pump at a Star fuel station, so is that petrol?

Of course, that does not mean we will get a petrol option in UK. I hope we do.

We can't tell. This car has been extremely well disguised.

There are a lot of false shapes around the window, the rear lights could be stuck on and made to look like like the real things disguised! A double bluff! The rear number plate is positioned at a very odd angle, making me think that there is a loot of padding on the lower section of the rear.

I was expecting the dials to be TFT as per the RR though it is an option on the new F- Pace, so may be an option on the D5. It uses the Range Rover steering wheel.

Not sure on tailgate, still too much cladding on the car.

I have no idea what he is putting in it, but it's registered in the UK and it's registered as a 3000cc petrol Thumbs Up

Maybe it's just me, but........

I'd prefer to see the Discovery 5 not to have such things as a fully TFT dashboard etc., because (a) it's another thing to go wrong and (b) it will make the vehicle way overpriced......

Now a bigger centre dash screen showing sat nav maps in addition to the centre console screen, that's a good idea.....

Discovery 5 needs to be affordable to purchase, own and run, otherwise a lot of us will have nowhere to go..... In my opinion.....

A full TFT dash is the best way to show sat nav etc. It works well on the Range Rover and Jaguars, even the new Ford Ranger comes with one.

One things certain, with or without a TFT dash this Disco isn't going to be cheap, so its as well having stuff on it thats worth a price hike rather than cast offs from the Disco Sport.

Personally speaking, I'd like it to be a nice comfortable place to sit, just like the current one. I'd like it to be as tall as it is now, with even better use of the space it provides, a media unit that isn't old hat but more than all of that to feel chunky, well built and luxurious without being too posh.

I had a D4 18 months ago and have had two L405's since then and whilst they really are superb cars I still miss the Disco. Its biggest claim to fame for me is that it was by some margin, the best value car in the LR stable. I just hope the D5 still will be Thumbs Up

A 3.0 petrol for the UK would really get me interested again... the diesel haters are starting to get some serious influence in major cities.
Thumbs Up

Don't like the style of the letters and numbers on the reg plate ....another example of LR rejecting loyal customers who might of wanted a pre-1975 Black & White one

Shocked ....the same year we voted on Europe ......Bloody Europe see Twisted Evil

Only because the road tax is cheaper on black & white.

Another thing for me is fuel economy though - especially with the diesel being reasonable at the moment where I am....

I'm keeping an eye on developments as I am in the market for a new Discovery - got to decide whether to go for another 4 or wait for the 5. Affordability is the key and that includes running costs....

Compared to the shot of the Vision Concept, it's virtually identical:

If you look at a shot of the disguised car from further back, it's possible to recognise all of the preposterous inverted horse shoe shapes in the middle section of the bumper. Above that, there seems to be a bit of dado rail (!) stuck to the bottom of the tailgate and the first join is immediately above the "dado rail". If that join is the tailgate split, then the lower tailgate is all of 3" deep! The next join above that is above the lamps. That's far too high to be the top of a usable lower tailgate.

So, it's either a uselessly small lower tailgate, or it's far too big! My money is on a single piece tailgate; something I could understand on a £25,000 car, but not on a £50,000+ car! Shocked

That bottom bumper piece could be a drop down step kind of thing from which a platform then slides out. All very "lifestyle" like that posh range rover event seat effort with the stirrups but more utilitarian which is obviously what we all want Laughing

Not necessarily - the tailgate could have a significant overlap, so the external proportions can really be quite flexible, potentially allowing for a larger upper tailgate to give better shelter. Thumbs Up
