That's not correct , anyone who sells vehicle lease/insurance can obtain it . Mine was from a
lease company , but I'm not on a lease . PM me for reseller , and cheaper than LR Dealers too !
P.S. This sounds like b loody spam .......

I called Alto yesterday and they have just sent through the paperwork
1 year $2,290 200,000km
2 year $2,620 200,000km
both include premium roadside assist from LR.
I am about to leave for 12 months around australia in Jan with wife and 3 kids so this is a no brainer for me...

Hi all,
At what point do you purchase the extended warranty? Is it at the time of expiry of the factory warranty or a few months before? Can it be purchased after the end of the factory warranty period?
Thanks.

You can purchase anytime BEFORE the 3 years is up ; at time of
delivery , if you want ! If you're out of warranty , the policy is different.
The reason for this is that a policy on an in-warranty vehicle is an
assurance that it's ok ( ha ha ) when they take it on .

Thankyou Neil for your reply. I'll definitely purchase this for the next one - it would have paid for itself by now.

I purchased an extended warranty with the National Warranty Company and have personally not had good experiences with them...the general claim of 'wear and tear' is used commonly and they are very slow to get back to the service centers on claims.
Wish I had gone at the time with the Allianz product instead. It is good to see that LR Australia is finally offering an official extended warranty...if only that was available at the time my factory warranty ran out MY05 TDV6 S - manual, King springs lift, General Grabber AT

Bit of an old post I realise but I was dropping the car off for a bit of diagnosis at the stealers and picked up a leaflet for LR Assured Extended Warranty.
Not got pricing from "sales" yet but interested to know if anyone is current on pricing and also good / bad / ugly experience with the product since purchasing in 2010 when the thread was last active. Hello dukemasterpro
I bought the extended warranty at the end of 2011 just as my warranty was running out. At the time the LR product had just been released. The LR product is just a rebadged version of the Allianz product. In the end I bought the standard Allianz product for the reasons below;
1. Note that the price is highly negotiable and will vary widely from dealer to dealer. There is a lot of markup. Expect to pay +/- $3000 for 3 years.
2. The Allianz product is available in a 3 year option which gives a better $/year rate and is a better buy IMHO. I think the LR version is a maximum of 2 years only?
3. The LR option ties you to servicing at the LR dealer whereas the Allianz product just dictates you must service as per manufacturers requirements.
The question will be if the dealers will still sell you the standard Allianz product thesedays.
Touch wood, the only problem I have had with the car so far is the failure of the rear tailgate opening mechanism / switch. The Allianz warranty covered this 100%. Does not in itself justify the cost of the insurance so really a peace of mind decision.
Good luck.

hi Perth Disco
The LR dealer in Darwin wanted to charge me $300 to work out if the cable in the rear door was broken, before he would consider approaching Alliance. My daughter (small hands) and I did it for a coup;e of dollars and it is still working months later.
Extended warranty runs out in 12 months, but vehicle still under 100k on the clock. Take the road less traveled. Dual battery system.ORS drawers,LR cargo Barrier.ARB Bull bar, side protection bars,Mickey Thompson ATR's 17" rims, Rear wheel carrier, radiator guard TPMS Mitchell Bros Tow Hitch LR RAI Steel Rims , GME UHF, Off Road GPS, Llams (yet to be fitted)

I'm just going thru the extended warranty thing now
Tha LR assured and Allianz assured are the same except that LR has Roadside assist
Both will only do 2yrs 200k on the assured.
My local dealer Pacific was $3400
Southern cross LR $3150
Meghan Roulston Savvy Finance (very helpfull) 0420483730 $2900
zelko.filipic@platinum directfinance.com.au $2790
Some negotating to get those prices
Alianz has an other policy which is an extension of the new car, but will only do 2yrs 50k
Read policy this does cover body and trim, assured does not.
Hope this helps
Cheers Ken
