Definitely worth it, if you can afford it --

It's one of those things that is not easily retro fitted so if you tow and go off road then probably worth having. Should have been standard fit really.
standard fit on all ZA-spec D3s, D4s, and RRSs --

had that option on mine and is worth having if towing off road, I often take the plant trailer into site and its got me out of trouble more than once
The other D4 was struggling with a empty trailer and I seemed to pull of site with ease, I told the other driver its in the driving as he doesnt know I have one. The other guys take the pixx out of him as he always goes on about his driving skills. MY18 RRS Autobiography Fuji White

If you can afford it go for it, a non locking diff car will get to the same places but with the locking diff you will get there with a little bit less fuss I've had them on all my D4's which do get used off road.Cheers Ian

There is previous debate on the value of them I agree with HD though I've not had one on 2 D3's & 4's .....always kept up with the big boys with them and never felt greatly disadvantaged at any time. If you do regular off-road work that's perhaps fairly technical then yes ...if not then no 21 year LR veteran > D2 GS 2003 > D3 S 2006 > D3 HSE 2009 > D4 HSE 2013 > D4 HSE 2015 > D5 HSE 2018 > DS HSE R-Dynamic P300e 2021
IMHO, skimp on the cosmetic options and get the functional ones --

I would add it on . As previously said both will get there, but the one without the locker will have to carry a little more wheel spin to use the traction control and carry a little more momentum. If I remember rightly they where not very much money as an option from the factory.Club N.E.R.D.S

I think on my last 3 D4's it has cost £625+vat (quite surprised it's never gone up) so it is relatively cheap to have it as a factory option Cheers Ian
