AFS with Daylight running lamps
Just another question about Daylight Running lamps..
The manual suggest that daylight running lamps can be switched off (P56) however the procedure does not seem to work on my MY16. Additionally the manual says that AFS is deactivated if daylight running lamps are on (P58).
Seeing as my adaptive lights are so subtle I can't detect any change regardless of conditions, speed or turn angle I'm wondering if AFL is deactivated by DRL as per what the manual says?
Anyone any ideas on this?
Cheers
Rob

Your DRL's are required by law so you can't switch them off by the method described.
The DRL are only on with the headlights switched off 'O' ...with the switch turned to any other selection DRL's will deactivate in any case ..so AFS will work as normal 21 year LR veteran > D2 GS 2003 > D3 S 2006 > D3 HSE 2009 > D4 HSE 2013 > D4 HSE 2015 > D5 HSE 2018 > DS HSE R-Dynamic P300e 2021

Thanks DG
Something else to thank Europe for.
Don't suppose I mind as I don't see them anyway.

With your AFS ...I take it you have cornering lamps so you can see them coming on and off ...to see the bending action on the xenons park about 15ft from a wall at night and turn your wheel from side to side 21 year LR veteran > D2 GS 2003 > D3 S 2006 > D3 HSE 2009 > D4 HSE 2013 > D4 HSE 2015 > D5 HSE 2018 > DS HSE R-Dynamic P300e 2021

That's not strictly true is it? The D4 was type approved before Feb 2011 so there is no legal requirement for it to have DRLs whatsoever?
Unless the MY 15 facelift was re-type approved (which I'd doubt) in which case I'm talking complete garbage

Yes its got the funny little LED verge illuminators. Wasn't sure if the lights only moved if the vehicle was moving, watched something online about them only swivelling at low speed if the indicators are on?

The corner lights also work with the indicators up to 30 odd mph ..swivelling increases with speed ...you really have to look hard to see them moving but they do the job 21 year LR veteran > D2 GS 2003 > D3 S 2006 > D3 HSE 2009 > D4 HSE 2013 > D4 HSE 2015 > D5 HSE 2018 > DS HSE R-Dynamic P300e 2021
