Two things to think about.
If you are only doing short trips I would leave the car on trickle charge via a Cteck over night when not in use
Secondly do you have any additional electric gizmo's on such as Dash cam, permanent live sockets DVD screens etc?

Do you mean the block plugs that sit under the rear passenger side ? just on the chassis ? that look like they should be more safely boxed away rather than just left out to get covered in stuff ?

Yes them indeed, I had 3 blocks on mine, pics on here only showed 2 but maybe because mine's a V8 it's different.

Also forgot to mention that the intermittent Amber Parking brake light has also not been on since the above work. Bonus.

Have you sorted this or not as you're not making sense and why have you suddenly started talking like a scots man?

I bought a new battery in the end, and not had any voltage issues since then, I think the previous owner let the battery go dead a few times and killed it.

No electrical gizmo's installed ....

Been out in it again today getting garden stuff and still runs sweet.

With little use, a c-tek charger and perhaps also worth spending £30 on a Foxwell BT100 to keep an eye on your battery state. Great bit of kit, it reports on remaining ampage

An old thread revived. I no longer have this V8 and have another one instead, but I did sell it to someone on this board, but that was many years ago and its had a few owners since and is now on Ebay again.

Anyway the 3 connector blocks at the rear near side chassis and the dodgy battery seemed to be my issuse. The locking mech on the connector block was broken so it was coming apart, put a tie wrap on it and it solved it.

Thanks for the update Trollman,

I shook the 2 connectors near the rear-left wheel. It did not change anything to my current issue.
I tried to unplug / plug them a few times. No change either.

I guess I have another issue at another place.

I have also read about instrument cluster issues. I swapped the instrument between my 2 D3's. The issue stays the same and stays with the vehicle. The instrument is ok. I confirms a wiring/plug issue.

I will keep you posted !

Hi all,

Problem solved for me.
It was some severe oxydation inside the engine ECM.
