My wipers are driving me mad. They judder across the screen and make such a noise. I've tried cleaning the rubber and cleaning the screen. This weekend I cleaned the screen extremely thoroughly and applied RainX. Now they judder even more. They are juddering/jumping in 1" jumps on the return wipe. At least with the RainX, I don't have to put the wipers on - just drive faster so the water gets blown up over the roof!
Does anyone else have the same problems or any fixes?
The blades look in good condition - well they should be as the car is only 2-3 months old!
The wipers on my previous RRS were the same and I had to replace them at 6 months old (at my cost) due to them splitting. I'm sure they split because of the constant juddering.

I have the same problem, similar age D3 (early April 06). All was well initially, then I had the Permagard applied & the noise began. Not as bad as you describe, but as the D3 is so smooth & quite, you really notice the noisy wipers
Hopefully someone here will know of a solution.

Well to be honest the only solution I've found (after discussing this six months ago on the RRS forum) is to apply RainX and then not using your wipers at all.
It looks like the wiper blades need more support along them like a traditional old style wiper has.Matt

Just answered my own question I got excited when I saw that the PIAA site listed a DiscoveryIII, but no joy.

The wiper blades are prone to damage at PDI - if the protective covering is not removed with care.
I had the same problem, and the blades were both changed free of charge.

Matt, check the part numbers, you should have
Wiper, right-hand drive DKC500160PMD or Wiper, right-hand drive DKC500150 Both blades should have the same part number
This is listed in TSB LA501-023
also TSB LA501-011 details the correct method of removing transit wiper protection, which can lead to premature failure of the blade adhesion to the arm. There was a post on here a while back where a LR workshop tech. hinted that by changing the angle the blades contact the screen at (by twisting the arms) the judder could be eliminated...

Hope that works TFC ...my driver side wiper judders at top of the screen for the last 3 or 4 inches of the wipe...it's not the end of the world but can be an irritant on long wet journeys.

Wife's S wiper judder got sorted at 2 month inspection but it is creepng back after few weeks.

from the post above the one in the link, it looks like a slight negative rake is required, i.e. twist the arm so the top edge is slightly closer to the windscreen... i've not tried it myself so it's 'owners risk' on this one
